199 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N NO. 8 55 9 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF GENERAL <br /> MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 8, 1980 <br /> 00044 . WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, by Resolution <br /> No. 8530, duly passed and adopted on March 3, 1980, designated the <br /> ammo precincts and polling places and appointed the members of the <br /> precinct boards for the general election to be held in said City of <br /> Redwood City on April 8, 1980, as required by law, for the objects <br /> and purposes of (1) electing the following municipal officers of <br /> said City of Redwood City: <br /> Four (4) Councilmen for the full term of four (4) years <br /> each, and one (1) Councilman for an unexpired term.of <br /> two (2) years. <br /> (2) submitting to the voters two (2) charter amendment proposals; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, said general municipal election was held on Tuesday, <br /> April 8, 1980, in accordance with law, and the votes thereat received <br /> and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and <br /> declared in all respects as required by law; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> 1"m" AS FOLLOWS: <br /> { <br /> 1. That the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City be and <br /> is hereby, instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of <br /> this Council as a statement of the result of said election. <br /> 2. That the whole number of votes cast in said City at said <br /> general municipal election was 6,312 votes. <br /> 3.
