Cumulative Demands for Police Services <br />Potential Impact: Buildout of the Project in combination with other <br />pending, recently approved, or recently constructed residential developments would <br />increase the demand for police services by an estimated 20 additional sworn officers, <br />and requisite training, support staff, facilities, and equipment (Impact 10 -5). <br />Mitigation: The Project shall be required to implement Mitigation 10 -3 <br />referenced in Section VII.C. above (Mitigation 10 -5). <br />Findings: Implementation of Mitigation 10 -5 is feasible and will reduce <br />the Project's contribution to this cumulative impact to a less- than - significant level. <br />F. Project- Related and Cumulative Increases in Fire Protection and <br />Emergency Medical Service Demands <br />Potential Impact: The Project in combination with other anticipated <br />pending, recently approved, or recently constructed residential developments in the City <br />are anticipated to increase demand for fire protection and emergency medical services <br />provided by the Redwood City Fire Department ( "RCFD ") as described in Impact 10 -6. <br />Mitigation: The City shall use property tax revenue increases from the <br />Project to fund the Project's fire and emergency needs. To the extent necessary, the <br />City shall require the Project to provide a fair -share contribution toward provision of new <br />staff facilities and equipment costs which exceed general fund capacity. The facilities <br />and equipment needed and amount of any fair -share contribution, cannot be determined <br />at this time, especially given the length of time and possible variety of future <br />circumstances. The City shall withhold approval of Certificates of Occupancy for the <br />Project unless and until it is determined that adequate fire protection and emergency <br />medical service standards can be met.
