of Redwood City is obtained for such connections. <br /> If any damage occurs to the street surface over the water <br /> transmission main line to be located because of construction, repair, <br /> replacement or maintenance of the line by Redwood City, or if damage <br /> so occurs because of compaction of the trench around the line, <br /> Redwood City shall repair such street surface. <br /> 4. Hold Harmless. Redwood City shall protect, indemnify and <br /> hold harmless San Carlos, its City Council, boards, commissions, <br /> officials, employees and agents, from any and all liability, losses, <br /> damages or claims because of, or arising out of, any accident, <br /> happening, or occurrence, or allegations thereof, resulting from <br /> the installation, operation or maintenance of the water transmission <br /> main line by Redwood City or by the failure to perform or the <br /> negligent performance of any other responsibility of Redwood City <br /> or its contractor undertaken as a result of or in furtherance of <br /> such installation, operation or maintenance. <br /> 5. Communications. All communications to be given hereunder <br /> shall be in writing, and shall be delivered personally, or by <br /> depositing the same in the United States mail, postage prepaid, <br /> and addressed, in the case of Redwood City, to: <br /> City Manager <br /> City of Redwood City <br /> P. 0.
