___________________________________________________________________________________ <br />JOINT CITY COUNCIL/SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD/ April 13, 2015 <br />PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES PAGE 3 <br /> <br />to conserve water, and expressed her appreciation for this update. Council Member <br />Howard noted that schools, churches, and other large buildings will be required to do <br />water reduction as well. She asked if the City is doing anything to reach out to let these <br />organizations available. Mr. Kyaw replied that there is outreach being done already. <br /> <br />Mayor Gee thanked those prior Councils who approved the recycled water program, <br />noting the significant reduction in water use in Redwood City since 1999. Vice Mayor <br />Foust presented Mayor Gee with the Wyland Foundation Certificate of Appreciation in <br />recognition and appreciation for his leadership in water conservation. <br /> <br />10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST (addressed earlier and before Public <br />Comment) <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> <br />Council Member Pierce spoke about her visit to the City and County's Association of <br />Governments annual retreat, noting specifically the discussion about water <br />management. <br /> <br />Council Member Howard spoke about the upcoming workshops from the Housing <br />Endowment and Regional Trust Fund (HEART) for San Mateo County. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Foust spoke about the meeting she and Mayor Gee had with the Belmont <br />Redwood Shores School District and a Council Member and Mayor of Belmont. She <br />noted this is a way for these groups to share what they're all working on so there can be <br />a better line of communication and collaboration. She represented Redwood City at the <br />Golden Gate National Cemetery memorial for the veterans of the Vietnam War. She <br />asked if Staff could bring back the idea of a senior day and senior shuttle as early as <br />possible. Vice Mayor Foust said she would like to have the proposed senior shuttle <br />program come back as soon as possible and Dr. Bell said that it could come back to the <br />April 27, 2015 meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Gee thanked Vice Mayor Foust for attending and reading the names of those <br />who passed away in the line of service during the Vietnam War.. He noted the <br />Downtown Business Group has a new event called Restaurant Week on April 23-29. <br />The Library Foundation has a fundraiser on April 24 called Wild Wild West. The League <br />of California Cities, Peninsula Division Bocci Ball tournament is also coming up. He <br />stated that there are new 15 new Metrolink cars which will be put into service as soon <br />as possible, increasing ridership and bike capacity. <br /> <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update <br /> <br />Dr. Bell introduced Matthew McDonald, the new Finance Director and provided some <br />information on his background. <br /> <br /> D.
