Staff will
report annually on the goals and outcome measures within each Initiative and will adjust
program activities as appropriate to ensure the achievement of the intended results for
the Redwood City community. Going forward, this report will be presented in one
document that consolidates the City’s previously overlapping Strategic Initiative Update
and Annual Report. Staff is currently working to identify data sources for outcome
measurement and tools for more frequent, visual reporting of these measures. In
accordance with Council feedback during its February discussion of the draft Plan, staff
will also continue to refine the measures so that they better capture desired, positive
end results and will work to develop baseline data and establish benchmarks.

ALTERNATIVES
Council could direct that staff make changes to the Strategic Plan document.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a “project” under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as
defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in
either a direct or foreseeable physical change in the environment.

AUDREY SEYMOUR RAMBERG
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER

9.B - Page 2
