ATTACHMENT 1 <br />ATTY/RESO.3102/CC RESO 101/WOODSIDE INTERCHANGE PROJECT <br />REV: 06-15-15 VR <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />WHEREAS, it will cost $3,900,000 (in addition to the previously reported value for design) <br />to implement the increased design phase of the PROJECT and $32,000,000 to implement the <br />right of way acquisition and certification activities of the PROJECT, or the sum total of <br />$35,900,000 for the PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to sponsor the implementation of the PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, the City seeks $14,060,000 in San Mateo County Measure A Highway <br />Program funds for the PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 7, 1988, the voters of San Mateo County approved a ballot measure <br />to allow the collection and distribution by the TA of a half-cent transactions and use tax in San <br />Mateo County for 25 years, with the tax revenues to be used for highway and transit improvements <br />pursuant to the Transportation Expenditure Plan presented to the voters (Original Measure A); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on November 2, 2004, the voters of San Mateo County approved the <br />continuation of the collection and distribution by the TA the half-cent transactions and use tax for <br />an additional 25 years to implement the 2004 Transportation Expenditure Plan beginning January <br />1, 2009 (New Measure A); and <br />WHEREAS, the TA issued a Call for Projects for the Measure A Highway Program funds <br />on May 8, 2015, and <br />WHEREAS, the TA requires a governing board resolution from the City in support of the <br />City’s application for $14,060,000 in San Mateo County Measure A Highway Program funds for <br />the PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, the TA requires a governing board resolution from the City committing the <br />City to the completion of the PROJECT. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> RESOLVED that the City is authorized to submit an application for San Mateo County <br />Measure A Highway funds for $14,060,000 for the PROJECT; and be it further <br />7.3.A. - Page 6
