Staff recommends awarding the bid to Municipal Maintenance Equipment as the lowest
responsible bidder.

ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose to not approve the purchase of this combination sewer and storm
drain cleaning truck. However, this would impact the operational requirements of the
Public Works Services Department and affect the Department’s ability to effectively
maintain sewer lines and storm drains throughout the City.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the purchase of the combination sewer and storm drain cleaning truck are
available in the Fiscal Year 2014/2015 Equipment Replacement Fund Budget.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This action is not a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality
Act because the action contemplated by this report will not cause a direct physical
change in the environment nor a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment.
