owner, Contractor shall attempt at the first annual inspection of the owner's <br /> property to ascertain that the animal has in fact been microchipped as <br /> required by County Ordinance and shall report their findings to County in a <br /> timely fashion. <br /> 21. Treatment, Staffing and Services <br /> 21.1 Shall provide or arrange to provide treatment to injured or sick animals in <br /> accordance with Section 597.1 of the State of California Penal Code and <br /> other relevant state law. <br /> 21.2 Employ sufficient resources to provide the level of treatment services <br /> guaranteed in this Services Agreement. <br /> 21.3 Bring all injured and/or sick dogs and cats found without an owner in a public <br /> place or confined by a citizen directly to a veterinarian in the community or to <br /> the Contractor's facility where it will be determined whether said animal <br /> should be immediately euthanized or be hospitalized under proper care and <br /> given emergency treatment. Injured or sick animals will only be transported <br /> to Contractor's facility if staff and/or volunteers are available to treat said <br /> animals. <br /> 21.4 On holidays, weekends, and between 6pm and Sam, M-F, and as may be <br /> otherwise needed on an emergency basis, all injured and/or sick animals <br /> may be taken by Contractor to an emergency veterinarian clinic/hospital if <br /> Contractor's staff and/or volunteers are unavailable to treat said animals and <br /> if the condition of the animal requires immediate treatment according to the <br /> judgment of the Contractor. <br /> 21.5 If an animal becomes sick and/or injured while at the Contractor's facility, it <br /> will be treated by the Contractor's available veterinary staff and/or <br /> volunteers. If staff and/or volunteers are not available to treat sick and/or <br /> injured animal, it will be transported to a veterinary clinic/hospital for <br /> emergency or immediate treatment, if needed. <br /> 22. Licensing & Permit Issuance for Dogs and Cats. <br /> Contractor shall: <br /> 22.1 Not release any impounded dog or cat to its owner unless it is licensed as <br /> required by applicable ordinance unless refusing to release the animal <br /> causes a conflict to the Contractor's mission and purpose as a humane <br /> society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, and/or where efforts to <br /> collect fees would, in Contractor's estimation, potentially jeopardize safety of <br /> its staff, volunteers, or facilities. <br /> 22.2 License and/or issue required permits and collect applicable fees for all dogs <br /> February 5,2015 -25- <br />
