and pays relevant impoundment, emergency medical treatment, and <br /> licensing/permit fees to redeem said animal. <br /> 17.3 Contractor shall maintain for four (4) years records of animals impounded <br /> including the description of animal; date of receipt; date and manner of <br /> disposition; treatment received; name and address of person who redeemed <br /> or adopted animal; and fees, charges and proceeds charged and collected <br /> for adoption or redemption. Contractor shall record all inoculations, which <br /> will then be included as part of said record. <br /> 18. May issue citations to any person whose animal is in violation of any state statute or <br /> County and/or City ordinance, unless noted as an exception elsewhere in this <br /> Services Agreement. <br /> 19. Refer neighborhood related animal complaints to the Peninsula Conflict Resolution <br /> Center or appropriate local mediation service. <br /> 20. Sheltering Services <br /> 20.1 Shall provide shelter services including receiving and impounding animals; <br /> housing animals; redemption of animals; treatment of animals; spay/neuter <br /> of animals; euthanasia of animals; and/or disposal of animals. <br /> 20.2 Employ sufficient resources to provide the level of sheltering services <br /> guaranteed in this Services Agreement. <br /> 20.3 Shelter and care for all animals received twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven <br /> (7) days a week. <br /> 20.4 Provide services as required by the State of California Penal Code 597.1 <br /> and state laws governing shelters for animal care, treatment, holding <br /> periods, and placements and dispositions. <br /> 20.5 Shall have business offices and public access areas of shelter to be open to <br /> the public on a schedule designed to benefit the public and facilitate the <br /> services established in this Services Agreement, provided that the hours and <br /> access be a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Contractor shall post <br /> and publicize public hours, and inform the County and contract areas shown <br /> on Exhibit B of hours and of any change in hours. <br /> 20.6 May subcontract, with prior written approval of the County, for the service of <br /> decapitation of animals for rabies testing, as long as such subcontract does <br /> not increase costs to County and contract areas shown on Exhibit B under <br /> this Services Agreement. <br /> 20.7 Microchip all animal designated as Dangerous prior to release if medically <br /> appropriate and owner is compliant.
