RESOLUTION NO. 077479(a -b) <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH: A) <br />PENINSULA HUMANE SOCIETY & SPCA TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDING ANIMAL <br />CONTROL AND SHELTER SERVICES FOR SAN MATEO COUNTY, EXTENDING <br />THE TERM BY ONE YEAR THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021, AND INCREASING THE <br />AMOUNT BY $6,625,381 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $38,056,663; AND B) <br />THE 20 CITIES OF THE COUNTY TO CONTINUE THE FACILITATION AND <br />COORDINATION OF ANIMAL CONTROL AND LICENSING SERVICES, EXTENDING <br />THE TERM BY ONE YEAR THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021 <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California, that <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance Code Section 2.83.170 authorizes the Board of <br />Supervisors to waive the Request for Proposals process in any situation where the <br />Board of Supervisors determines that the best interest of the County could be served <br />without the necessity of proposals; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board has been asked to waive the Request for Proposals <br />process in order to contract with Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS) for the <br />purpose of continuation of providing animal care and control and shelter services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the <br />County to waive the Request for Proposals process as set forth in the memorandum to <br />this Board from the Health Director; and <br />WHEREAS, the 20 Cities in the County of San Mateo (collectively hereinafter, <br />"Cities") and County have entered into a written agreement for animal care and <br />control, shelter services, and animal licensing, in which the County agrees to facilitate <br />
