EXH-
SCOPE OF WORK. DEADLINE AND PAYMENT TERMS PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:
Cbsed circu television (CCN) inspection, and cleanng for that purpose, of selected
pQelines n sanitary sewer basins 5A and 5D.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of work described herein is the minimum necessary to meet the City's
objectives. The CONTRACTOR's expected to expand on the scope by ncorporating their
expertise and proposed method of approach.
The scope of work for the project shall inciude the furnishing of all labor, materials, and
equipment necessary to clean the sewer pipelnes, inspect manholes and provide a closed-
circu telev'sion nspection in digal format of the sewer pipelines listed above. The word
"clean" is defined as the removal of all accumulations including sludge, dirt, sand, rocks,
grease, roots, and other solid or sem'soid materialthe pipe and manhole.
Cleaning
The CONTRACTOR shali perforn a mhimum of two (2) passes using the high-vebcity
hydraulic cleaning method. The contractor shail clean the line until the ine is ready for
cbsed-circuit television nspection that is acceptable to Cty. No additional compensation will
be made to the CONTRACTOR n performing three or more passes in cleaning the sewer
line. All pipe cleanng cost method and duration shall be ncluded in the agreed cost
'rrespective of the type and size of the existing sewer ines. f a video and/or the capture
inages inthe database do not clearly show the pe conditions due to nadequate clean-up or
are of such poor quality that the Engineer's unable to evaluate the conditan of the sewer or
bcate sewer service connections, the CONTRACTOR shall re-televise that section of the
pipe at CONTRACTOR'S expense.
The CONTRACTOR shali protect the manholes to withstand forces generated by equipment,
water, and air pressure. The CONTRACTOR shall clean the sewer pipe of any obstruction and
debris ncluding roots in accordance with the "Standard Specifications for Public Woks
Construction (Green book)", latest edition.
CONTRACTOR shall use a jet/vacuum combination unit for deaning all sewer lines. CONTRACTOR' S operating
technicians shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience cleaning with this piece of
equQment. CONTRACTOR shall clean the hes in a downstream diectian, beginning from the
most upstream manhole of a particular reach or set of reaches, and begn cleaning so that the
debris will continually be pulled downstream.
In order to jet clean the lines, a high pressure water pump on the combination truck shall
deliver water from attached tanks through a high pressure hose to a cleaning noale. The
water pumped through the cleaning noale shall propel the nozzle and attached high
pressure hose through the sewer. Once the cleaning noule has arrived at an upstream
manhole, the noule shall be pulled back through the ppe at a velocty controlled by the
operator. During the cleaning process, the cleaning noule will not travel faster than one foot
per second in the line. While the cleaning noule is pulled back, the vacuum system shall be
used to simuaneousy remove debris flushed bythe cleaning nozzle.
REV:OS-22-15
ATTY/AGR.2015.102/Professional Pipe Services
