CONTRACTOR shall use a root cutting noule to remove all debris. The root cutting noule <br /> shall revolve 360 degrees, be capable of cleaning at 6"-12"lines,and operate at 80 gallons per <br /> minute at a pressure of 3,000 pounds per square nch. Disbdged roots shall be captured and <br /> removed from the line either bythe vacuum or a basket. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall remove all sludge,dirt,sand, rocks, roots,grease and other solid or <br /> semisolid material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream manhole of the <br /> section being cleaned. Procedure for removing roots may nclude the use of inechanical <br /> equipment such as rodding machines and bucket machines using root cutters and <br /> porcupines. Passing material from manhole section to manhole section which could cause <br /> line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage pumping equipment, shall <br /> not be permitted. Chemical root treatment shall not be used by the CONTRACTOR. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall dispose all solids or semisolids resulting from the cleaning <br /> operations from the site at a suitably sanitary landfill site as defined by the Titles 22 and 23 <br /> of the Califomia Administrative Code. Under no circumstances will the CONTRACTOR will <br /> be allowed to accumulate debris on the site. The Contractor will be allowed to store a <br /> debris container in the City Public Works S e r v i c e s Department corporation yard. The <br /> removal and disposal of sol'ds shall be ncluded'nthe agreed cost. <br /> F the CONTRACTOR encounters a surcharging manhole (flow exceeds the diameter of the <br /> sewer pipe), the CONTRACTOR shall i�nmediately notify the City Public Works Services <br /> DeCxarhnent at{650-780-7464)and provide information on the cause ofthe blockage. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall prevent contract operations from causing a stoppage or overflow. <br /> h the event of a stoppage or overflow, the CONTRACTOR shall inmediately notify the C�y <br /> Public Works Services Department at(650-780-7464).The CONTRACTOR shall remove the <br /> stoppage and contain and mitigate the overflow. Overflows shall be mitigated to the City's <br /> standards ncluding property damage overflows that shall require cleaning and restoration. <br /> All costs for damages occasioned by the overflow are the responsibility of the <br /> CONTRACTOR. <br /> All water used 'n conjunction with the cleaning operations shall be metered and paid <br /> for by the Contractor. Contractor shall pay an$800 deposit to Cash Collections at City Hall, <br /> 1017 Middlefield Rvad for the construction meter; monthly service charge will be$392.04 in <br /> addition to the actual water usage. The receipt of payment shall be taken to the C�y's <br /> Public Works Services Department, 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, to pick up the water <br /> meter. Prior to final inspection, return meter to Public Works Services Department, who will <br /> read the meter and prepare billing for water usage. Lost or damaged meters will require <br /> forfeiture of deposits plus cost of ineter replacement. <br /> CCN hspection <br /> W�hin 24 hours of cleaning the line, CONTRACTOR shall thoroughly nspect the sewer lines <br /> using CCN equipment and WinCan version 8.30.0.2090 inspection software. The CCN <br /> camera and monitor shall produce a minimum of 460 horizontal lines of resolution. The <br /> CCN camera shall be a pan-and-tift with rotating head capable of providing a 360-degree <br /> view of the i►side of all pipes, connections, and any pipe defects. Video recording shall be <br /> done digitally n full cobr n order to provide the utmost qualty viewing. Mages will be n focus <br /> and done with adequate ighting to provide a clear view of the entire periphery of the line <br /> ncluding any defects while keeping glare to a minimum. The rnage shall not be obscured <br /> by fogging or misting conditions when n a sewer line. <br /> The color camera shall be operative under 100 percent humidity conditions in the sewer. <br /> The center of the camera lens shall be at or above the spring ine of the sewer being <br /> televised. The camera and ancillary equipment shall not block the sewage flow at any <br /> time. In cases where itwill not be possible to remove a trapped camera by excavation of a <br /> sewer line, a tag line shall be attached to each end of the camera to allow the camera to <br /> be pulled out from either end. f the camera gets stuck in the sewer pipeline, the <br /> CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all costs involved 'n extracting �,and shall extract <br /> the equipment n a timely manner n order to avoid 'nterruption to sewer flow.
