Alternatively, a permittee may choose to pay the Pavement Damage <br /> Restoration Fee established by City Council Resolution, in which event, the <br /> City Engineer shall authorize a repair less than full and complete <br /> reconstruction of the entire newly reconstructed street. <br /> Construction-Related Activities <br /> 64. Hours of Construction — Construction activity is permitted between 7:00 a. m . and 8:00 <br /> p. m . Monday through Friday, except as permitted on weekends by the Building Official , <br /> and shall adhere to the City's Noise Ordinance . If possible, the noisiest construction <br /> activities would be scheduled for daytime hours when the ambient noise levels are <br /> highest. [SDR][BUILDING] <br /> 65. Pre-Meeting for Construction - After City permits are approved , but prior to start of <br /> construction , the applicant shall hold a preconstruction conference with Engineering <br /> staff and other interested parties. The developer shall arrange for the attendance of the <br /> construction manager, contractor, and all subcontractors who are responsible for <br /> grading and erosion and sedimentation protection controls. Construction Material in the Right-of-Way - Construction parking, material storage, <br /> equipment, or other construction-related uses are not allowed within the City right of <br /> way without prior approval from the City Engineer. Prior to encroachment permit <br /> issuance, the applicant shall submit a construction parking management plan , which <br /> shall outline the number of construction workers by phase, phase duration , where <br /> parking will be located for each phase . Construction & Traffic Control Plan — The applicant shall submit a Construction <br /> Traffic Routing and Parking Plan for review and approval prior to the issuance of permits. <br /> The plan shall ensure that adequate emergency access is maintained during <br /> construction . Traffic control for lane closures shall conform to the Work Area Traffic <br /> Control Handbook. Street closures require submission of traffic control plans and <br /> approval in advance. [SDR][ENGINEERING] <br /> 68. Grading — Grading shall be performed in accordance with Volume III , Pad II of the City's <br /> Engineering Standards. Soil or other construction materials shall not be stockpiled in <br /> the public right-of-way. The applicant shall submit cut/fill volumes (CY) for all soils to <br /> be imported to or exported from the site. [SDR][ENGINEERING] <br /> 69. Monitoring - The Soils Engineer shall conduct continuous site inspections during <br /> trenching and backfill operations at the applicant's expense. The Soils Engineer shall <br /> take compaction tests and submit the results to Engineering & Construction . <br /> [SDR][ENGINEERING] <br /> 70. Public Parking During Construction - The applicant shall apply for Parking Meter <br /> Construction Zone Hoods prior to removing any public parking spaces from public use <br /> during construction . Parking meter construction zone hoods shall be issued upon <br /> payment of a deposit of $ 10.00 per hood issued , refundable upon return of the hoods, <br /> and a nonrefundable fee of $3.00 per day per hood issued.
