� ` . - WHEREAS, this Council desires and intends to permit the use of said site for said purpose and desires and intends to ' apply a large portion of the insurance proceeds received by it for the purpose of restoring the cross structure as a landmark of local historic value long identified and aseociated with the City of Redwood City and the Redwood City area; Nt7�, THEREFORE: SECTION l. Each of the statements set forth above are hereby found and determined to be true and correct and are by this reference incorporated in the body of this ordinance as if fully set forth herein verbatim. sECTION 2. The sum of four thousand three hundred eighty- two and 50/100 dollars ($4,382.50) is hereby appropriated from the Indemnity Fund of the City of Redwood City for the purpose of contributing to the cost of restoration and reconstruction of the abovementioned cross structure as a landmark of local historic value long identified and associated with the City of Redwood City. The City Manager, City Auditor, and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to expend said sum for said purpose as follows: Engineering and construction costs may be paid in progress pay- ments during the course of restoration and reconstruction; provided, however, that no engineering or construction costs shall be advanced unless and until actual construction has com- menced and the City Manager determines the total available restoration funds, both public and private, are sufficient to complete such project. SECTION 3. Neither this ordinance nor any action taken hereunder shall be deemed to approve or adopt any religious theory, dogma, creed, or symbolism whatsoever, nor shall anything herein, directly or indirectly, be deemed to imply the establish- ment, adoption, or favoritism of any religious organization, creed, sect or church whatsoever. * * * - 2 -
