Marion Soholt, 1911 Goodwin, neighbor of Mr. Wieseman, also objected to the
development on the same grounds: 2-story homes looking into bedrooms and through
houses, loss of privacy, and concerns about the structural integrity of the creek. She
also voiced concerns about the ability of safety equipment to get in and out of the
development
Steve Collins, 1923 Goodwin, neighbor of Mrs. Soholt, also objected on privacy
grounds, a 2-story home looking down into his bedroom, the structural integrity of the
creek, the density of the project stating it was over developed, and the resulting, noise,
traffic and parking problems. Mr. Collins said the Planning Commission did a great
job, and thanked Councilwoman La Berge for spending so much time with the
neighbors on a Sunday, a day off.
Louis Visconti, 1410 Valota Road, adjacent to the proposed project, opposed the
project as all five proposed homes on his side would look down into his property and
depreciate the worth of this property. Mr. Visconti said the plans do not conform to
required set backs and side yard set backs, and he was also concerned with the
structural integrity of the creek. He added that there was insufficient parking for
guests.
Linda Collins, 1923, Goodwin, objected to the project and said she agreed with her
neighbors. She also thanked Councilwoman La Berge for spending time with the
neighbors at the site.
4) Close public hearing;
Mayor Hartnett asked if anyone else wished to speak. Mr. Wilson
described the removal of upstairs windows on Units 5 and 9 to provide privacy to
neighbors and explained there was insufficient land to build nine single story homes.
They had to be two-story homes. He described the new designs being used, how
successful they were in Redwood Shores, the 2-story high living rooms, and the special
window features which were not actually windows but looked like they were from the
outside.
MINUTE BOOK NO. 54
Page No. 152 Regular Meeting Minutes
March 25, 1996
Page 9
