Housing and Human Concerns Committee Funding Recommendations for the Community <br /> Development Block Grant Program - FY 1996/97 (209, 505) <br /> REPORT: Housing and Human Concerns Committee, May 6, 1996 <br /> Charlie Greer, Chairman of the Housing and Human Concerns Committee discussed <br /> Committee goals and Council priorities. Mr. Greer reported that the Committee has <br /> $975,000 to allocate this year. <br /> Lorianna Kastrop, member ofthe Housing and Human Concerns Committee discussed <br /> funding and statistical analysis. Twenty eight CDBG proposals were received and twenty <br /> proposals were recommended for funding. <br /> Ian Bain, member of the Housing and Human Concerns Committee stated that the <br /> Committee had placed stipulations on three CDBG projects; Heron Court, LaRaza and <br /> Shelter Network. <br /> In response to a question from Councilman Claire, Mr. Bain stated that the Committee is <br /> recommending that the Council contact HUD regarding conditions at the Heron Court <br /> project. <br /> Councilman Claire requested more information about shared housing, stipulations of the <br /> Committee, and the intent of the Council in reference to Shelter Network <br /> MEMO 517196 <br /> Vice Mayor Howard invited Shelter Network to prepare a presentation for the <br /> Committee. <br /> City Manager Everett stated that the Council would have more information prior to the <br /> next public hearing. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 54 MEMO 517196 <br /> Page No. 214 Adjorned Regular Meeting <br /> May 6,1996 <br /> Page 3 <br />
