I . . <br /> <br /> Motion died for a lack of a second. <br /> '-- MIS: LEIPZIG/CLAIRE FOR 100% ALL NEW P AVERS IN THE SHAPE OF <br /> BRICK, EXCLUDING THE CONCRETE BAND AND MAKING A PATTERN <br /> WITH THE BRICK. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND THE FIRST <br /> MOTION IS ELIMINATING THE CONCRETE BAND AND HAVING BRICK <br /> PAVERS. <br /> Councilman Ruskin explained that he wanted to vote to retain and save the pavers <br /> presently there but thought that the solid red color would be inappropriate from an <br /> aesthetic point of view. <br /> MOTION FAILED ON THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS CLAIRE, HOWARD AND LEIPZIG <br /> NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS BUCHAN, LA BERGE, RUSKIN AND <br /> MAYOR HARTNETT <br /> MIS: CLAIREI LABERGE OPTION #4b WITH A MODIFICATION THAT THE <br /> EXISTING INTERLOCKING PAVERS BE MODIFIED, NOT BEING HELD TO <br /> THE SINGLE RED COLOR, LOOK AT THE EXISTING KEY PAVERS AND SEE <br /> IF THERE IS A MORE INTERESTING PATTERN IN ORDER TO SAVE A <br /> '----' MAJORITY OF THE PAVERS, INCORPORATE THE DESIGN AESTHETICS <br /> DISCUSSED BY COUNCILMAN RUSKIN AND THE ARCHITECT, THE <br /> BORDER WOULD BE A P AVER AND THAT THIS MODIFICATION COME <br /> BACK TO COUNCIL AT A FUTURE DATE. <br /> City Attorney Schricker suggested that the motion be modified to direct the consultant to <br /> prepare alternative patterns. <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS BUCHAN, CLAIRE, HOWARD, LA BERGE, <br /> RUSKIN AND MAYOR HARTNETT <br /> NOES: COUNCILMAN LEIPZIG <br /> MIS RUSKINIBUCHAN SUGGESTED DEFERRING ITEM #2 ON THE TREES <br /> AND PLANTERS TO THE NEXT AGENDA MEETING ON MAY 13, 1996 AND <br /> VOTE ON ITEMS #3 & #4 TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT WITH FRIEDMAN, <br /> TUNG AND BOTTOMLEY. <br /> L <br /> Ad40rned Regular Meeting MINUTE BOOK NO. 54 <br /> May 6, 1996 Page No. 219 <br /> Page 8 <br />
