<br /> Human Resources Department win increase .6 FTE from the City Manager's Department. <br /> Library win increasing .50 FTE the first year and .50 FTE the second year which is the new <br /> Library/School position. <br /> Parks and Recreation win increase by 7 FTE the first year and 4 FTE the second year. 2.5 <br /> FTE are not new but went from the casual classification to FTE with no change in hours. A.6 <br /> win be added funded by Lido Landscaping Maintenance District, 2 FTE for Red Morton <br /> Community Center, 1.5 to the new Redwood Shores parks, and .75 FTE for child care staffing <br /> which is being offset by additional revenue. <br /> Police Department in FY 1996/97 would have 3 new FTE, one is the programmer analyst <br /> transferred from Finance, one is the new police officer, and the last is a sergeant position <br /> (instead of the cash contribution to the County for the narcotics task force which was <br /> previously reflected in the supplies and services account.) In FY 1997/98 there will be one <br /> more new police officer. <br /> Public Works Department will reflect a decrease of .25 FTE of the Director's time in his role <br /> as Assistant City Manager funded from the City Manager's budget. <br /> Factoring out grants and reimbursements the actual increase for 1996/97 win be 5.1 FTE and in <br /> 1997/98 will be 4 FTE, <br /> Mayor Hartnett caned upon members of the audience who wished to speak to the FY 1996/97 <br /> or FY 1997/8 budgets. <br /> Lisa Dondick, member of the Bicycle Subcommittee of the Traffic Advisory Committee, <br /> asked the Council to appropriate $3,000 to fund a bicycle map for Redwood City. Ms. Dondick <br /> said they had received matching funds of $6,000 from the State of California, plus private <br /> donations totaling $1,000 from Chain Reaction Bike Shop, the Credit Union, and Pete's <br /> Harbor. The State money would be granted upon the receipt of the $3,000 from the City and <br /> would be available for 3 years. She added that the committee estimated the cost of the map to <br /> be $10,000.
