MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE. AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS BUCHAN, CLAIRE, HOWARD, LA BERGE, RUSKIN AND MAYOR HARTNETT. NOES: COUNCILMAN LEIPZIG MINUTE ORDER NO. 161 MIS: HOWARD/CLAIRE TO FUND $3,000 FOR THE BICYCLE SUB-COMMITTEE REQUESTS FOR A BIKE MAP. Councilman Leipzig suggested that the County bike map seems sufficient and a Redwood City bike map may be a duplication of efforts. Mayor Hartnett said he preferred having the Traffic Advisory Committee make a recommendation. City Manager Everett advised that the Traffic Advisory Committee's first recommendation was for the Bicycle Sub-Committee to apply for a grant and match it with private fund raising efforts, and then bring the proposal back to the Traffic Advisory Committee for its review. Councilman Ruskin discussed the roles of the committee and the importance of following the process. Councilwoman La Berge recommended that the Bicycle Sub-committee do more to raise matching funds, and asked if there were a deadline to raise the money. Community Development Director Nelson advised that there is a 3 year deadline to raise the matching funds to be eligible for the grant. MIS: HOWARD/CLAIRE TO AMEND THE MOTION TO REFER THE ITEM TO THE TRAFFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR RECOMMENDATIONS, SUPPORT OF THE MAP AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE MAP AND FUNDING.
