. ., -

i Gary Saunders, Business Manager for the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union in San
. Mateo County, spoke in favor of the Electronic Arts project and the construction jobs it
'- will bring. Mr. Saunders said there were over 150 members living in Redwood City
and they were all strongly in favor of the project not only for the construction jobs, but
for the permanent high-paying jobs it will bring, which will enhance the business
community in Redwood City. This project will enhance the reputation of Redwood
Shores as the premiere office park on the peninsula.

Daniela Devincenzi, 269 Ruby, San Carlos, reported that this project began when she
was Mayor of Redwood City. Mrs. Devincenzi said it was an incredible development
and if the Council relied on the testimony of the professionals and consultants and
disregarded subjective opinions the decision to support the development would be a
simple one under the planned development designation, which is the same designation
as the surrounding buildings. Mrs. Devincenzi said under that designation the proposal
is actually under the allowable height. She said that Flatirons Funding as owners of
the land was discussed at the Planning Commission public hearing on June 4, and
Electronic Arts speaks on their behalf and is in control of the development. Mrs.
Devincenzi spoke about the benefits of a single tenant and encouraged the people of
Redwood Shores and the Council to support this great development.

, 4) Close public hearing;
I
i MIS: LEIPZIGIHOWARD TO CONTINUE THE OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO 7:30
- P.M.
