Common cases could include domestic violence, problems with <br /> government agencies, housing, problems with creditors, garnishments, Medi-Cal <br /> health benefits, consumer problems, dissolution of marriage, child custody, and <br /> landlord-tenant issues. $20,000 was requested to support lega/ assistance to <br /> seniors, persons with disabilities, and domestic violence survivors living in <br /> Redwood City. <br /> Rape Trauma Services — Rape and Sexual Abuse Prevention Proqram <br /> The RTS Rape and Sexual Abuse Prevention Program provides rape prevention <br /> and education in the community. Curricula ranges from topics related to <br /> Violence Prevention Education to topics related to Self Defense and <br /> Assertiveness Training. $10,000 was requested to support this prevention <br /> program. <br /> Generatinq Renewable Ideas for Development Alternatives (GRID Alternatives) — <br /> Solar Affordable Housinq Proqram <br /> GRID Alternatives works with communities and local organizations to identify <br /> specific needs and to develop renewable energy solutions that are <br /> environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. The Solar Affordable <br /> Housing Program proposes to make affordable sotar power available to 10 low- <br /> income households throughout San Mateo County. $10,000 was requested ro <br /> support the solar affordable housing program for 4 households in Redwood City. <br /> Service Leaque of San Mateo Countv - Hope House <br /> Hope House provides a 180-day recovery program for women who are released <br /> from the San Mateo County Women's Correctional Center, and who have a <br /> desire to resolve their alcohol and/or drug addictions before returning to the <br /> community. As women graduate, they return to the community and are <br /> supported in their successful recovery through an alumni group. $7,500 was <br /> requested to support the operation of Hope House. <br /> Clara-Mateo Alliance, Inc. — Elsa Seqovia Center <br /> Clara-Mateo Alliance provides shelter and supportive services to homeless <br /> individuals, couples, and families in order to assist them in obtaining stable <br /> housing and in achieving self-sufficiency. The Elsa Segovia Center provides a <br /> range of daytime services from counseling and substance abuse treatment to <br /> childcare and parenting classes to laundry and shower facilities. $10,000 was <br /> requested to support fhe operation of the Elsa Segovia Center. <br /> 7 <br />
