Mayor Hartnett said what happened to Bertha had no place in Redwood City nor any
community, and it was incumbent upon the Council to do what it could to prevent this type
of behavior. Mayor Hartnett provided an update on Bertha's condition and described how
Kaiser Hospital had come to Bertha's aid providing complete medical care, including
psychological services, even though she and her family are not members of Kaiser. Mayor
Hartnett said Kaiser Hospital had done this many times, that Kaiser is very concerned and
responsive to people and the community's health care needs. Mayor Hartnett also thanked
the POA for establishing the trust fund for Bertha and her family through Wells Fargo
Bank.
-------n-______n______---------------------------------nn---------------------------n------______n______------------
8.
