ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />A. San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President Ruben Barrales referred to <br />Consent Calendar Item 3.1., the MiddlefieIdlDouglas Resignalization Project, and asked <br />the Council to work with the County on that project. President Barrales said the loss of <br />any parking spaces during or as a result of the resignalization would have an extremely <br />negative impact on the small businesses in that area. (304) <br />MEMO 7/30/96 <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------------______n______------------- <br /> <br />~ B. Don Saye, 2021 Broadway, Redwood City, spoke enthusiastically about Consent Calendar <br />Item 3.D., the Broadway Sidewalk Improvements Project, and encouraged Council to <br />accept the bid. However, he expressed concern regarding the inclusion of the proposed <br />"cement outline." (304) <br /> <br />Councilman Ruskin, Chairman of the Council Streets Committee, described the proposed <br />concrete border and advised he would work with the architect, Mr. Tung, to be certain that <br />the end product would be aesthetically pleasing. <br />MEMO 7/30/96 <br /> <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />C. Barbara Willis, 644 Barbour Drive, Redwood City, referred to a petition she and her <br />neighbors submitted to the Council last month in opposition to a proposed new driveway <br />on their cul-de-sac, and listed specific complaints she had with a letter she had received <br />from the Planning Division responding to her concerns.
