<br /> Committee Member Lorianna Kastrop described the new process being instituted to <br /> formalize in depth research into the over 50 agencies applying for CDBG and HSFA <br /> funds, including more on-site visits, more HHCC meetings, and the recordation of <br /> information into permanent records for future use. <br /> Committee Member Sue Keely emphasized the need for a State approved City <br /> Housing Element and said affordable housing in Redwood City was a high priority <br /> with the Committee, and without the approved Housing Element the City was unable <br /> to take advantage of funding opportunities. Member Keely expressed the Committee's <br /> strong interest in the Franklin Street development. She described the good working <br /> relationship the HHCC had with the Planning Commission and its liaison <br /> Commissioner Verdone. <br /> Committee Ian Bain focused on the Committee's interest in opening up dialogues <br /> with the City's Homeowner Associations to make sure information flows fteely <br /> between all the organizations. <br /> Council Members thanked the Committee for their accomplishments and wiIIingness <br /> to work so hard to improve the process. <br /> Councilman Ruskin asked the Committee to work with the Senior Affairs <br /> Commission on parking problems. <br /> MEMO 10/29/96 <br /> Councilman Claire asked the Committee to work with the Planning Commission on <br /> reviewing the City's 600 square feet maximum for second units and list that item in the <br /> HHCC Workplan for 1996/97. <br /> MEMO 10/29/96 <br /> Vice Mayor Howard and Councilwoman Buchan, members of the Ad Hoc <br /> Committee on Boards, Committees and Commissions, advised they were working on <br /> recommendations for all the boards, committees and commissions in the City and <br /> would work with the HHCC on meeting their needs regarding appropriate dates for <br /> beginning and expiring terms. <br /> MEMO 10/29/96 <br /> 2) Pride and Beautification Committee; <br /> REPORT: Pride and Beautification Committee <br /> Vice Mayor Howard, Chair of the Pride and Beautification Committee thanked <br /> Councilwoman La Berge, the Committee's first Chair, Councilwoman Buchan for her <br /> leadership as Chair, and the Council for its unwavering support over the years. <br /> Committee Member Karl Vollmayer introduced members in the audience Jean <br /> Roehm, Don Saye, Roxanne Dragon, Mary Rose Scott, Rene White, Bob Hoffman and <br /> Gino Gasparini.
