This provision shall be applicable <br /> only in Fire Zone No. 3. <br /> "EXCEPTION: Roof coverings for Type V buildings, <br /> housing Group H occupancies. located in a Number 3 Fire Zone <br /> may be as specified in Section 3203 (f) when the total floor <br /> area directly below the roof area does not exceed 4,500 <br /> square feet. <br /> "For Attics; Access and Area, see Section 3205. For <br /> Roof Drainage, see Section 3206." <br /> SECTION 11. Section 2508 of the Building Code is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 2508. Fire stopping shall be provided to <br /> cut off all concealed dratt openings (both vertical and <br /> horizontal) , and form an effective barrier between stories, <br /> and between a top story and roof space. It shall be used <br /> in specific locations, as follows: <br /> " (1) In exterior or interior stud walls, at ceilings <br /> and f loor leve ls. <br /> " (2) In all stud walls and partitions, including <br /> furred spaces, and so placed that the maxi.mum dimension of <br /> any concealed space is not over seven feet. <br /> -6- <br />
