be servedt a sewer lateral will be installed by the City <br /> of Redwood City upon the making of, and approval of, an <br /> application to the office of the City Engineer requesting <br /> the installation of such lateral. The applicant shall, at <br /> the time application is made, pay to the City of Redwood <br /> City the sum of Five and 50/100 Dollars ($5.50) per lineal <br /> foot of four inch vitrified clay lateral, or Six Dollars <br /> ($6.00) per lineal foot of six inch vitrified clay lateral, <br /> whichever dimension is deemed necessary by the City Engineer. <br /> For the purpose of computing the lineal feet upon which' <br /> payment is to be made, it shall be presumed that every <br /> pub lic sewer is constructed in the center of the pub lic <br /> right of way in which installed and payment shall be made <br /> on that basis, without regard to the actual length of lat- <br /> eral to be installed. No building pexmit involving the <br /> installation of plumbing facilities and no sewer connection <br /> permit shall be issued by the Building Inspector until the <br /> application has been approved by the City Engineer. <br /> " (c) The City will install all sewer laterals except <br /> where a pub lic sewer is located in any right of way where <br /> open trsnching is prohibited, either by the City of Redwood <br /> City or any other agency hav ing jurisdiction over such <br /> rights of way, in which case the applicant for the sewer <br /> lateral shall obtain a permit from the City Engineer for <br /> the installation of said lateral by a licensed contractor <br /> of the applicant's choice under the terms and conditions <br /> designated by the City Engineer and any payment of the <br /> deposit required by the City Engineer to cover inspection <br /> or staking costs." <br /> -2- <br />
