<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 6-7-04 <br /> 1 Whether or not a project of this type and size <br />\ 2 should be built in Redwood City at all, and if at <br /> 3 all in the site at which -- the sites at which it <br /> 4 is proposed. <br /> 5 And we've discussed here, and the planning <br /> 6 commission has discussed on numerous occasions the <br /> 7 various impacts and mitigations; but the broader <br /> 8 question is still whether or not, even given those <br /> 9 things, and the different views on those, whether <br /> 10 or not a project like this fits Redwood City in <br /> 11 general, and - - and at those sites. <br /> 12 And I do think it does fit Redwood City and <br /> 13 fit those sites for a long list of rea s on,s, but I'd <br /> 14 just like to mention a couple. <br /> 15 First, I think Redwood City is a place of <br /> 16 great diversity, all it takes is driving around the <br /> 17 City to recognize how diverse we are, economically, <br /> 18 socially, culturally. And this, in my mind, would <br /> 19 be another different aspect of Redwood City, <br /> 20 different than other parts o'f it, different than <br /> 21 perhaps other parts of our county.
