As other Council Members have said, <br />( 2 this project can't be put anywhere else without <br /> 3 changing the character and the feel of our <br /> 4 community. While we've changed from our roots -- <br /> 5 from our more rural nature and our blue collar <br /> 6 nature, we still value our neighborhoods. And I <br /> 7 see this as a way to take an area which has grown <br /> 8 and has residential, but doesn't really have a <br /> 9 character of its own, and to create one which is a <br /> 10 high quality character. <br /> 11 There will be challenges inherent in doing <br /> 12 this, it takes time and it will take a great deal <br /> 13 of care, but we have the opportunity to create this <br />\ <br /> 14 new neighborhood, to create opportunities and - - <br /> 15 and options for new community members. <br /> 16 And I think that's important to do and I <br /> 17 think it outweighs the fact that this will be so <br /> 18 new for us. <br /> 19 I think Redwood City has taken on <br /> 20 challenges in the past, and we are interested in <br /> 21 making a quality of life for all of our residents, <br /> 22 for all of the diversity that we have economically, <br /> 23 culturally and socially.
