REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 6-7-04
were mentioned tonight. But I think probably what
( 2 it comes down to is housing. And that is something
that is critical in this area.
I would like to be able to stay in Redwood
City until my time is done and I'd also like to
have my children here, and we need more housing.
Max Keech said it very well two weeks ago
when he said if you build three Glenborough-Pauls
projects it wouldn't be enough, if the office space
was all filled up. We need quality businesses and
we need different levels of housing.
So I look at that.
I also spent a lot of time the last two
(
weeks reflecting on a comment by a 50-year resident
of Redwood City, he's a gentleman that I've come to
know and respect and admire. I don't always agree
with this individual, but we've had conversations
and he said that he supported it and believed in it
for a numb~r of the things that came up tonight.
But he has lived here for 50 years, he's
had a business in the community, he's an extremely
active volunteer, and I look at somebody like that,
who has seen tremendous changes in 50 years in the
Redwood City community, and he believes in our
future and the opportunity. And I think that says
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 49
(650) 952-0774
--
