<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 6-7-04 <br /> 1 something about where we're going. <br />( 2 And I also looked at we've gotten <br /> - - many <br /> 3 letters the last several days about people who are <br /> 4 not supportive of this project, and I read them and <br /> 5 I reread them, and part of me is trying to <br /> 6 understand and sort of grapple with some of the <br /> 7 things that had been brought up. And I think it <br /> 8 comes down to, the questions that were brought up <br /> 9 in these letters, they were asked before. The <br /> 10 answers were given. They were given four and five <br /> 11 times, but as all of us know, sometimes when you <br /> 12 don't get an answer that you're satisfied with, <br /> 13 you're going to keep asking the same questions. <br />I <br /> 14 And I think that's when we as a Council <br /> 15 need to balance community needs, as Council Member <br /> 16 Bain put it, and community values and build on <br /> 17 opportunity and build for the future. <br /> 18 So I feel I've seen three reiterations of <br /> 19 this project. I didn't like the first one, I <br /> 20 really didn't like the second one, and I feel <br /> 21 really good about the third one. <br /> 22 So that's where I'm at. <br /> 23 MAYOR IRA: First of all, I'd like to thank <br /> 24 Council Member Hartnett.
