REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 6-7-04
1 last meeting was protecting -- protecting
( 2 centennial neighborhood and getting the avigation
3 easement.
4 And -- and when that was done, Jim, you
5 know we were depending on you to read that and make
6 sure that it was going to be okay. I really want
7 ,to thank you for that because that was, I think, a
8 No. 1 priority, it was clear to me, to the Council
9 a f,t e r the last meeting.
10 I'm not going to repeat the comments - -
11 many of the comments, but just in a little bit
12 different light, for me, I would never ever, ever,
( 13 approve a housing .project just for the sake of
14 having housing. And - - and the reason I wouldn't
15 do that is because I think the quality of what we
16 do here in Redwood City is too important. And - -
17 and because of that, I'd just like to thank the
18 staff for the reiterations that this project went
19 through, for pounding on the developer and - - and I
20 do believe they're a quality developer, they have a
21 great reputation, and that they still need to be
22 pounded on. And - - and I really want to thank the
23 staff for the job that they've done. Because
24 they - - this is the third reiteration, and I think
25 it's something that we can all be proud of.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 51
(650) 952-0774
.-
