REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 6-7-04
I - - I don't know if this project could be
( 2 built anywhere else, but we are completely
transforming the bayfront, there's no question
about it. We -- we saw the plan here in front of
us, but taking that same plan and putting it on
land is a completely different picture than -- than
having everything confined in a little picture
here.
And so that was one of the questions that
the staff brought up at the beginning, was that we
needed to analyze, was not only is this project
good, but, are you prepared to make this decision
and completely take the bayfront into a new
\
direction.
And -- and I think that Council Member
Hartnett was very eloquent in the way he expressed
those ideas of how - - why this is good for Redwood
City and what it would do for Redwood City. And I
wholeheartedly agree, I think it's a wonderful
development for the bayfront. I think it's a very
exciting project, I think it is something that is
drastically needed here in Redwood City.
And again, I know that there will be many
times that there will be frustrations, it still has
many ways to go, they'll be dealing with the
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 52
(650) 952-0774
.-o.
