REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
1 will be Mike Spence, followed by Mark Moulton.
J 2 in the
I If you could please get your seat
3 back.
4 MR. SPENCE: Mayor Ira, Council and staff.
5 My name is Mike, Spence, I'm a Redwood City resident
6 who's spent the past ten years trying to preserve
7 our bayfront shoreline, but I'm also pro growth,
8 and have even taken the risk of building housing in
I
9 the redevelopment district, where I think it
10 belongs.
11 We all have a lot invested in supporting
12 the City's vision of the downtown area, believing
13 in the new theater project and the newly published
(
14 downtown area plan.
15 Many'of us are deeply concerned about how
16 the approval of this project will impact or slow
17 down the redevelopment of our downtown area. How
18 can you guarantee that there will be enough water
19 for the developers of the 3,000-plus planned units
20 that need to be more strategically built in the
21 downtown area? Or the other units that are in the
22 pipeline for the Century 12 theater project?
23 It doesn't seem right that more recycled
24 water be forced upon all of us, like it has on
\ 25 Redwood Shores, just so this developer can create
UCCELLI, & ASSOCIATES 100
(650) 952-0774
..
