<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04 <br />1 note, I lived in the Centennial neighborhood in the <br />2 late ' 40 s, I'm a product of the local schools all <br />3 the way through high school. I rafted in this area <br />4 when I was in grade school and junior high. And <br />5 there was no Highway 101. So when you think about <br />6 how do things change overtime, they change. Think <br />7 ten years ago, think 20 years ago, and when you do <br />8 that, you'll see that there's been a lot of changes <br />9 in our community. And this change, in my view, is <br />10 a positive one and only enhances Redwood City's <br />11 view in the bay region and in the state, just like <br />12 the -- the fine high tech businesses that we've <br />13 attracted to the area. <br />( <br />14 So we would urge your support in <br />15 consideration of the next steps, and move forward <br />16 and provide and bring the needed housing and help <br />17 out with this ever escalating problem of employee <br />18 retention. <br />19 Thank you. <br />20 MAYOR IRA: Thank you. <br />21 Victor Torreano and then Pete Hughes. <br />22 MR.
