REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
1 we actually have a few that come in from
I 2 Sacramento, and also have that come in from
we many
3 the northern counties as well.
4 I will tell you that we are trying to
5 combat that problem ourselves. As a matter of
6 fact, recently we just had approved from the City
7 of San Mateo the ability for us to provide 44 new
8 units for our faculty and staff that will be placed
9 actÜally on the College of San Mateo campus. We
10 plan to do the same eventually at Skyline College
11 and may come back to you for having a similar site
12 at Canada College as well.
13 But even though these - - we have an immense
(
14 need, these units will only provide upwards of
15 maybe 150 to 200 residences.
16 Most of our employees, actually, would
17 qualify for below market rate housing. And we are
18 very attracted by this proposal for them to provide
19 below market rate housing as part of this
20 development. I know that our faculty and staff
21 would take advantage of that, as well as the other
22 K-12 districts that support your community as well
23 too.
24 So I urge you to support this project and
\ 25 it would make a great difference for our community
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 122
(650) 952-0774
.. ,
