REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
at large.
I. 2 Thank you very much.
MAYOR IRA: Thank you.
Max Keech and then Lou Harvey.
MR. KEECH: Good evening honorable Mayor,
members of the Council.
You could tonight support this project on a
regional basis and give the reasons as a member of
the board of Samcito; but a lot of that's been said
tonight, so I'd like to talk about it from a more
local perspective.
BKF Engineers employs primarily young
professionals here in Redwood City, approximately
I,
half of which commute in from either San Jose or
from the East Bay. This is exactly the type of
housing that those young professionals could use.
In addition I'm involved with the Shores
Childcare Center and The Autism Center. We have
about 80 employees out there that work with those
kids, many of which, in fact, I think all of which
except for the senior administrators would qualify
for the moderate income housing with their spouse,
exactly the type of housing that they could use.
I'd like to talk about how we got this way.
Diane asked if these were Redwood City numb e r s, and
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 123
(650) 952-0774
..
