REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
the developer to make sure he meets his requirement
( 2 of 15 percent.
COUNCIL MEMBER HOWARD: Thank you.
COUNCIL MEMBER RUSKIN: Mr. Passanisi, you
said the City could withhold building permits,
could or would? I thought the - - I thought the
stipulation was that if those requirements were not
met, then future building permits would not be
issued?
MR. PASSANISI: Well, I guess the
ultimate - - the ultimate answer is, the City would
reduce or not would -- would eliminate or withhold
the building permits. Now, if the developer says,
\
well, you know, we have some effective means that
we're going to undertake shortly and why don't you
give us - - you know, give us a reasonable period of
time to implement that, then maybe we may hold off
at some point. But I - - I think there's a matter
of reason here that the City, if there's not a 15
percent reduction, the City most likely would
prevent or would not issue building permits.
And we would take in consideration some
other factors, and to be sure that's indeed the
case. But it gives us the ultimate authority to
prevent them from take building permits out.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 161
(650) 952-0774
-,
