<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04 <br />1 just touch on - - I mean, because one thing I <br />2 remember about Commissioner McCoy is he would <br />3 always come back and drill these traffic analysis <br />4 and traffic studies, and so I'm wondering if maybe <br />5 you could let some insight into them or give some <br />6 insight into them. <br />7 MR. HEYGOOD: Well, one thing that occurred <br />8 to me is occasionally we use nationally collected <br />9 data, trip generated data from similar types of <br />10 projects, some sometimes all over the country. And <br />11 that data is all averaged together. So we say that <br />12 typically a retail project or residential project <br />13 generates X number of trips per dwelling unit or <br />( <br />14 per square foot for retail. And sometimes, <br />15 occasionally when we're looking at a smaller <br />16 project some of that data may be old or - - and -- <br />17 but because it's a small project it's the best we <br />18 have, you know, within the resources we have for <br />19 that type of project. <br />20 For this project, Marina Shores, the <br />21 consultant for the EIR, as I recollect, looked at <br />22 some other high-rise residential developments and <br />23 looked at the trip gener a t i on rates, we established <br />24 that the trip generation rates were actually a <br />25 little lower - - lower than what the -- what we <br /> UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 178 <br /> (650) 952-0774 <br /> -- <br />
