REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
what he was saying, that we looked at the specific
impacts but not - - not the broader of like a bigger
r'ing around Redwood City.
MR. EVERETT: Let me try giving an
example, if given the - - given the number of
buildings we have, let's - - let's just say we have
10,000 trips coming into -- for people who work in
our buildings throughout Oracle and everywhere.
The -- really question is where are they coming
from? Are they driving two or three miles or are
they driving two hours?
That's what, I think, Max was trying to get
at.
!
COUNCIL MEMBER FOUST: Okay.
MR. EVERETT: People who are driving to
those jobs will drive to those jobs. The question
is, how far are they going? Are they going an hour
and a half or two hours from Tracy or are they
driving 15 minutes from something locally, okay?
And the traffic studies don't really get at the
latter, they're coming from two hours and causing
,22 congestion over a long distance and -- and somebody
else said, there's lots of pollution in those
lengthy trips.
COUNCIL MEMBER FOUST: And maybe Tom could
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 177
(650) 952-0774
.-
