I know these six individuals <br />I 2 on this Council, that doesn't happen. <br /> 3 And I'm insulted by anybody that would <br /> 4 stand up at that microphone and even think that. <br /> 5 I also look at the groups that spoke <br /> 6 tonight, Bill Mack, I'm looking at you right in the <br /> 7 audience, Building and Construction Trade Council, <br /> 8 we need jobs like this for the people that you <br /> 9 represent, that's so important. <br /> 10 If growth doesn't happen in a certain way, <br /> 11 the community ends up dying on one level. <br /> 12 I understand what Mr. Nobel said, I have <br /> 13 the utmost respect for his environmental concerns, <br />( <br /> 14 he's been a stallwer in this community. But 80 <br /> 15 percent of San Mateo County is open space, I don't <br /> 16 want to see anymore sprawl in the Central Valleys, <br /> 17 I don't want our firefighters living in Antioch, I <br /> 18 don't want our police officers there, I want them <br /> 19 here. <br /> 20 I heard Mr. Spence speak, I met him when I <br /> 21 was precinct walking, I respect his thoughts and <br /> 22 his opinions. I'm not agreeing with them in <br /> 23 regards to this project because I think we can have <br /> 24 transit-oriented development, and I think that we <br /> 25 can have Marina Shores Village.
