FERNANDEZ: Good evening. Mayor Ira <br />6 and members of the Redwood City Council, my name is <br />7 Tom Fernandez, I live at 595 Marlin Court in <br />8 Redwood Shores, not far from the proposed project <br />9 site. <br />10 I speak in favor of the planned Marina <br />11 Shores Village this evening. I believe this is a <br />12 quality project that exemplifies many features of <br />13 smart growth development. And I'd like to speak to <br />14 five of those features effecting Redwood City. <br />15 First, it will address the housing shortage <br />16 in Redwood City, including affordable housing that <br />17 others have and probably will continue to speak to. <br />18 Second, it will improve the quality of life <br />19 in Redwood City by providing - - providing a highly <br />20 desirable destination point. <br />21 This destination will provide public access <br />22 for walking along the water, the Marinas and Bair <br />23 Island.
