<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04 <br /> 1 Third, the project will enhance shopping <br />! 2 activity at nearby retail and service businesses. <br /> 3 This will be possible by residents using the new <br /> 4 walkways, bike paths, possible shuttle service, and <br /> 5 street improvements. <br /> 6 These business areas include the shopping <br /> 7 center across the highway at Mervyns and Kinko's, <br /> 8 et cetera. It also includes the downtown area and <br /> 9 it could well include the business corridors along <br /> 10 Woodside and El Camino Real. <br /> 11 Fourth, the project will provide easy <br /> 12 access to major employment centers along the <br /> 13 Peninsula and across the bay due to its close <br />I, <br /> 14 proximity to major transportation corridors, these <br /> 15 include the peninsula highways that cross bay <br /> 16 bridges and CalTrans. <br /> 17 Fifth, the construction followed by the <br /> 18 village operations and maintenance will provide <br /> 19 much needed jobs and revenue sources for the City <br /> 20 of Redwood City. <br /> 21 Therefore, I urge the Redwood city Council <br /> 22 Members to approve this project.
