REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
1 that are for and against the project, so I'd
I, 2 appreciate that.
3 Sorry JoAnn.
4 JoAnn Kemist and then John Harp.
5 MS. KEMIST: My name is JoAnn Kemist, Mr.
6 Mayor, Counsel Members, thank you for allowing me
7 to speak this evening. I represent a number of
8 viewpoints that you've heard this evening. I'm
9 here very much in favor of the project. I'm a
10 parent of two adult children, one of whom is
11 fortunate enough to own a home in Redwood City, but
12 as a small business owner and competes regularly to
13 try to find employees who can live and work in this
(
14 community. And is challenged as a business owner
15 to do so.
16 Another adult child who would love to stay
17 in this community, and we're looking for housing
18. all the time.
19 I'm married to a gentleman who's a
20 recruiter, trying to find senior scientists who
21 would like to live here and feed the economy that
22 we are all so desperately trying to nurture. And
23 bringing senior scientists into this area is a
24 challenge because of the lack and expense of
I 25 housing.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 86
(650) 952-0774
'.
