"Ordinan=e~: Article VIII (Abatement of Abandoned Shopping Carts) [commencing with §14.115! of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, as said Article exists upon the date hereof and may from time to time be amended, revised, or supercecled. i. 'Participating Owner": Heminabove defined. j. 'Participating Owner's Premises": The real properly located at 1401 Broadway, Redwood City, California, including the entire area owned and utilized by Participating Owner's business establishment, also including any parking lot or other off-street area provided by or for Participating Owner, k. "Retrieval Service Agreement": The agreement(s) between City and City's ContraGtor($) for the retrieval of Abandoned Shopping Carts, including the initial such agreement effective upon the effective date of this agreement, and any and all succeeding such agreements in effect during the ta~-~ hereof and any extension of said term. !. '$ervic~ Area": All streets (including sidewalks, parking strips, !ffledian strips, end extensions of street easements to abutting property lines), welkways, rosds, paths, other City-owrted or used easements, Ci~-o~ned lands and appurtenances, and the outdoor common area of any building, business premises, apartment building at complex, or other premises Or portion thereof which is adjacent to public property, and open to the public, within the corporals limits of City and subject to the election of a Participating Owner, all streets {including sidewalks, parking strips, median strips, and extensions of street easements to abutting property lines), walkways, roads, paths, other publicly- owned or used easements, publiciy-ow~ed lands and appurtenances, and the outdoor common area of any building, business premises, apartment building or complex, or other premises or portion thereof which is adjacent to public property, and open to the public as shown on Exhibit 'A" he~3f, attached hereto, and incorporated by reference. m. 'Shopping Cart": A basket which is mounted on wheels or a similar device generally used in a retail .establishment by a customer for the purpose of transporting goods of arly kind, including a Laur~ry Cart. n. -Sllopping Cart Retrieval Program": City's program for the retrieval of Abandoned Shoppi~lg Carts unde~ which Participating. Owners c=ntract with City for Shopping Cart retrieval services end City, in turn, earth-acts with an enterprise in the business of Shopping Cart retrieval, the costs of which are borne by the Participating Owner.
