<br />JOINT CITY COUNCIL/ May 18, 2015 <br />SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD/ <br />PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Laura Guerrero stated that she and her family received an eviction notice along with 18 <br />other families in her building. She stated that it is extremely difficult to find a new home. <br /> <br />Guadalupe Gonzalez stated that she also has received an eviction notice. She spoke <br />about the difficulty of finding a new home because of high rents and asked the City <br />Council to establish rent stabilization. <br /> <br />Dr. Bell stated that the Council asked staff to develop a request for a marina operator, <br />and find a way to break even while operating the marina. He stated that there is an <br />expense increase now because more people are not allowed to move into the marina <br />since it's not an allowed use. He stated that the prior operator left the marina in <br />substandard condition so the City brought it up to a decent standard. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one <br />motion and one vote. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances <br />and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Foust stated that regarding item 7.1 A the Childcare Coordinator was cut to <br />part time a few years ago and is now being brought back to full time. She stated that <br />the Council is concerned with caring for residents from birth to end of life and thanked <br />the Childcare Coordinator for advocating for childcare. <br /> <br />Council Member Bain noted on agenda item 7.1E. pertains to moving a historically <br />contributing building so it can remain in the community. Council Member Aguirre asked <br />if this is moved for affordable housing. Dr. Bell replied that is correct. <br /> <br />Public Comment <br />Brad Cleveland, San Mateo County Union Community Alliance, expressed support for <br />moving this home to a new City-owned lot and preserving the home. He noted it will be <br />R-4 and asked if there will be additional units at this site that could be affordable <br />housing. Mr. Aknin stated it is correct that it is zoned R-4 but due to the lot size, one <br />unit is the maximum. He stated there could potentially be an in-law unit but parking is <br />difficult. <br /> <br />Council Member Pierce asked that on agenda item 7.1C to include in this contract that <br />the City Council receive a report on how complaints are resolved. Dr. Bell stated that <br />he will work with the Police Chief to get a regular report. <br /> <br />M/S Howard/Foust to approve the Consent Calendar as presented.
