<br /> <br />Red Morton Community Park Sports Lighting Initial Study <br />City of Redwood City 26 June 2015 <br />4.2 AGRICULTURAL AND FOREST RESOURCES <br /> <br />4.2.1 Setting <br /> <br />According to the San Mateo County Farmland Map 2010, Red Morton Community Park and the <br />surrounding area are designated Urban and Built-up Land.5 Urban and Built-up Land is defined as <br />residential land with a density of at least six units per 10 acre parcel, as well as land used for <br />industrial and commercial purposes, golf courses, landfills, airports, sewage treatment and water <br />control structures. <br /> <br />The site is not the subject of a Williamson Act contract and there is no agricultural use on or adjacent <br />to the project site. <br /> <br />According to California Public Resources Code Section 12220(g), Forest Land is land that can <br />support 10-percent native tree cover of any species, including hardwoods, under natural conditions, <br />and that allows for management of one or more forest resources, including timber, aesthetics, fish <br />and wildlife, biodiversity, water quality, recreation, and other public benefits. According to <br />California Public Resources Code 4526, “Timberland” means land, other than land owned by the <br />federal government and land designated by the Board of Forestry as forest land, which is availa ble <br />for, and capable of growing a crop of trees of any commercial species used to produce lumber and <br />other forest products, including Christmas trees.
