<br /> <br />Red Morton Community Park Sports Lighting Initial Study <br />City of Redwood City 73 June 2015 <br />4.17 UTILITIES AND SERVICE SYSTEMS <br /> <br />4.17.1 Setting <br /> <br />Redwood City’s potable municipal water supply is provided by the Hetch Hetchy regional water <br />system operated by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Redwood City’s recycled water <br />system provides non-potable water supply. Recycled water is produced at the Silicon Valley Clean <br />Water (SVCW) sub-regional wastewater treatment plant on Radio Road in the Redwood Shores area <br />of Redwood City. <br /> <br />Wastewater treatment for Redwood City is provided by the SVCW treatment plant. SVCW operates <br />under a joint powers authority with four member agencies: the cities of Redwood City, Belmont, and <br />San Carlos, and the West Bay Sanitary District (serving Menlo Park, Atherton, Portola Valley, and <br />parts of East Palo Alto and San Mateo County). SVCW is responsible for the operation of four pump <br />stations, the force main, and the wastewater treatment plant. <br /> <br />Allied Waste Industries Inc. provides solid waste collection, recycling, transportation, and disposal <br />services to Redwood City customers under a franchise agreement. Collected waste is transported to <br />the South Bayside Transfer Station, located in the City of San Carlos.
