protective restoration or maintenance to prevent flooding, reduce <br />siltation or otherwise provide for the public health or safety, if <br />approved by the City Engineer or his or her designee; <br />3. No development of structures and no addition of new <br />impervious surfaces are allowed within the setback area except for: (1) <br />unpaved trails, or (2) paved trails if approved by the Zoning Administrator <br />and Engineering and Construction Division, unless a Use Permit is <br />approved by the Zoning Administrator, consistent with the findings <br />outlined in-Article 42 of the Redwood City Zoning Code and the following <br />additional findings: <br />a. The development will not disturb riparian <br />vegetation; <br />b. The development will maintain the stability of the <br />slopes of the creek bank; <br />C. The development will be designed to avoid <br />discharge of pollutants directly to the watercourse and will assure that the <br />discharge of runoff will be filtered over a minimum of twenty -five (25) feet <br />of vegetation or through other equivalent means to the satisfaction of the <br />Engineering and Construction Division; <br />All existing structures and impervious surfaces may remain, subject to the <br />provisions of Article 33 (Nonconforming Lots, Uses, Structures and <br />Parking) of the Zoning Ordinance. Structures within the creek setback may <br />be modified only in accordance with Article 33 and the Use Permit <br />provisions of subsection (F)(3) of this section.
