5
9. Surrounding Land Uses and Setting

The project only includes minor changes to the LII Zoning District, which is a 48-acre zoning district east
of Woodside Road (CA-84) shown on the map below. The zoning district is bordered by an industrial
zoning district and unincorporated San Mateo County on the South, US-101 on the North, CA-84 on the
West, and the Stanford Precise Plan District on the East.

The Stanford in Redwood City Precise Plan area, approved by the City Council in 2013, occupies 35-
acres and includes the construction of 1.5 million square feet of administrative office, research and
development, and a medical clinic campus.

A major future infrastructure project will be the Woodside/101 Interchange Project. The City of Redwood
City is proposing to reconstruct the Route 101/84 (Woodside Road Interchange) to relieve existing and
future traffic congestion, and to improve traffic safety and vehicular access to and from Route 101 and
CA 84. The goals include improving highway operations, reducing associated congestion on Redwood
City streets, removing barriers to non-motorized travel, increasing safety, and minimizing impacts on
nearby businesses.
.

10. Other public agencies whose approval is required (e.g., permits, financing approval, or participation
agreement):

None. This project only requires adoption by City Council.
8.C. - Page 18
