BOARDS, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. Appointment to the newly constituted Housing and Human Concerns Committee for nine,
four-year, staggered terms, commencing with initial limits of two, three and four years.
City Clerk Jorgenson presented the staff report and offered options for Council to use in
voting for so many candidates at one time. Staffs recommendation at the Council meeting
of December 5, 1994, for staggered terms was as follows: former members to be given the
longer terms with four members receiving 4-year terms, three members to receive 3-year ---
terms and two members receiving 2-year terms. City Clerk Jorgenson suggested that the
length of service on the former HHCC be used as a criterion for the longer 4-year terms,
new members be appointed according to votes received, and in case of a tie the
appointment would be done alphabetically. Thereafter the terms will be for four years.
Council chose to use written ballots, have them counted during the next agenda item and
have the City Clerk read the results into the record.
Housing Coordinator Jones-Thomas assisted the City Clerk and counted the ballots.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.
